Meet my Master
Updated on January 30th, 2009 at 1:12 pm,God has given us his written word in the Bible. The Bible tells us how we can know for sure we will spend eternity with God after we die. Read the following verses in your own Bible.
1. God says everyone has fallen short of his glory, even if we don’t feel like we are a sinner.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
2. The penalty for our sins is death in hell (eternal separation from God).
Romans 6:23a For the wages of sin is death;
3. But God loves us.
So much so that he proved his love for us, even while we were sinners, by sending Christ to die for us (i.e. be the payment for our sins, and suffer the penalty of death in our place). That’s why the Bible now says:
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
4. Eternal life is a gift based upon the work of Christ on the cross.
You cannot work for it yourself. You have to simply accept it by faith. You do that by an exchange of life:
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
5. You have to ask Jesus Christ to become your Lord.
That means he is master and you are servant. You give up your old, sinful, rotten life to get his new, righteous spotless life from God.
Romans 10:9-10, 13 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Will you pray this prayer with sincerity and give your heart to Christ right now?
Lord, I know that I am a sinner, and I know that the penalty for my sin is death. But today I have heard that you sent your Son to die for me, and that you offer me eternal life freely in Him. I submit my life to you and ask Jesus Christ to be my Lord from this moment on. Amen.
