Being a disciple of Jesus Christ and making disciples are life-long commitments. The Directions lessons are designed to bring the disciple through repentance and enlightenment into ministry training. We want to reproduce people who recognize the change in their lives, who know the basic principles and characteristics of the Lord Jesus Christ, and who begin an active involvement in the life of this church and the work of ministry. Contact Donna Bruce at 816.358.0988 x 2082 with any questions or for more information on Directions.

Biblical Discipleship is process of life transference, not a program centered around the teaching of the lessons. The goal of biblical discipleship is seeing the disciple grow in their conformity to the Lord. This is accomplished by working to see four biblical goals established in the life of the disciple.

Be established in the word of God

Your daily walk with God through prayer and the study of the Bible is essential to biblical discipleship. Our Resource Center provides Bibles, books, study guides, and audio recordings to help you establish strong study habits. Sunday worship services give you the opportunity to learn from Senior Pastor Jeff Adams. Training classes provide further opportunities for personal spiritual growth; online classes are also available.

Be established in the fellowship of believers

Develop relationships that are mutually edifying through Adult Ministry Fellowships, prayer teams and home teams. These smaller group settings allow you to meet people as you continue to grow in your walk with the Lord.

Be established in the structure of the local church

This happens through faithful attendance and commitment to membership. The four week First Connections class provides you with important information about KCBT’s history, what we believe, and the steps to become a KCBT member.

During the First Connections class you will receive information about Directions, a study experience designed to deepen your personal walk with the Lord. Other key classes to deepen your understanding of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ include Searching for Truth and Experiencing God.

Be established in ministry

Ministry within the local church allows us to use the gifts and talents received from God to benefit our church body, allowing us to apply the things we have learned. The Spiritual Gifts Test will help you see what your gifts may be and directs you to areas of ministry available at KCBT.

Shepherd School of Ministry, our four-year Bible institute provides another layer of ministry training. Taught by KCBT pastors and leaders, these classes are available on Saturday mornings, Sunday evenings and online. Classes are also offered in Spanish through ¿Qué Dice la Biblia?.
